Full Time Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a conscientious, career-minded Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various types of high-reach equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot defects in heavy duty equipment
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety switches, and any other necessary mechanical components
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units
  • Install and align engines and machinery
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Other mechanical repair work as required

Requirements

  • Any appropriate credentials/certifications and/or 1-2 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Computer literate

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
  • PPE required at all times
  • Overtime as required
  • Hazards associated with the trade
  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • May be exposed to construction sites

Full Time Class-1 Truck Driver

We are seeking a professional and experienced Class-1 Truck Driver to work on a full-time basis at our Richmond-based operation. The ideal applicant will have a clean driving record and good attendance history.
Experience operating end dump and tractor is a must. Pay rate dependent on past experience and performance evaluation following probationary period.
